                                    Bell
                            I am a mid-west U.S. artist/musician.
I have worked mostly with oils in my paintings.
I also draw, do printmaking (woodblock, some
litho, and aquatint). I enjoy oil because of
extended dry time, the way it can be manipulated
and layered to create a rich surface. Most of
my work is realistic but I try to go beyond simple
photo-realism. I like to add a little interest
in some way, maybe by using reflective or transparent
surfaces, portraying the way light reflects off
                                or through glass for example.
I believe it would be a dull world
if not for the creative gifts we were blessed
with. Imagine life with no music, art, or laughter.
I feel that art, at it's best, should stir something
within the viewer or listener. If you can touch
some nerve, or emotion, or bring to remembrance
some forgotten feeling or just nudge a curious
soul to see something small in a new way... then
                                it's all good.
